Put Main Street Before Wall Street
The Bush administration and their Wall Street allies would bailout
Wall Street but let homes – millions of homes – get boarded up, causing
property values to decline, and leaving taxpayers stuck with worthless
paper.
Call your representative and ask him or her to tell Chairman Barney Frank in the House and Chairman Chris Dodd in the Senate to opposed the bailout unless it includes taxpayer protections. You can reach
your representative at 202-224-3121. If you don't know who your
representative is, that's OK. Just tell the operator your zip code, and
they will connect you.
Here's a sample message you can leave:
"I urge you to call Chairmen Frank and Dodd to tell them you cannot support a bail-out unless it includes something for Main Street. Protect taxpayer investments by including the Main Street mortgage modification provision."
Then let us know you called by filling out the form.
