Tell Congressional Leadership to Pass a Strong Toy Safety Bill
Congressional Leadership needs to hear from you, instead of the industry, on the Product Safety Bill. As the two
bodies decide the fate of the final bill, it’s a crucial time to make your
voice heard. Dear
Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid:
Congress
should give America’s children the strongest protection possible from dangerous
toys. We urge you to send a final bill with the strongest parts of both the
House and Senate CPSC reform bills to the President before the August recess.
The
final law should require third-party testing for hazards of all consumer
products, including toys, as the Senate bill would provide. It should ban toxic
lead at the lowest level possible and include the Senate’s provision banning
toxic phthalate chemicals. And it should allow states to continue to pass even
stronger protections. Sincerely,
