In addition to the redistricting measures, CALPIRG and Ohio PIRG are involved with several other measures on the state ballot and staff are available for comment. CALPIRG is recommending a yes votes on a prescription drug measure (Prop 79) and an energy regulation or “No More Enrons” measure (Prop 80) and is recommending a no vote on the drug industry’s sham initiative (Prop 78) and a measure that stifles political participation by some union members (Prop 75). The other reform measures supported by Ohio PIRG are Amendment 2 (vote by mail), Amendment 3 (campaign contribution limits), and Amendment 5 (bi-partisan board of supervisors for Ohio elections).
