Mike Litt is U.S. PIRG Consumer Program Advocate. Mike educates and activates consumers to stand up to Wall Street and other special interests who threaten our financial security. His area of focus is the protection of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). He has co-written a report, “Mortgages and Mortgage Complaints: The CFPB’s Consumer Complaint Database Gets Real Results for Victims of Mortgage Problems.”
Prior to joining U.S. PIRG, Mike was Field Director for the Clean Energy Project (CEP) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mike strengthened CEP’s ability to move clean energy policies by showing wide grassroots and business support to decision makers. For two years, he also oversaw volunteer recruitment and outreach to other organizations for the National Clean Energy Summit, co-sponsored by Sen. Reid, the Center for American Progress, MGM, and UNLV.
Over the course of 10 years In Texas and Nevada, Mike worked on 5 electoral campaigns and twelve issue campaigns at the local, state and national levels. He also organized over 40 art and culture events. In 2010, Mike was voted by readers of The Austin Chronicle as Best Mover & Shaker.
