Our oceans are home to more than 97 percent of all life on Earth. They are critical to the survival of the planet. They help control our climate, provide more oxygen than rain forests, shelter for countless animals, raw materials for medicine and food for all of us. Our oceans’ coasts also provide endless recreational opportunities as well as a source of spiritual renewal for many. We are working to protect our precious oceans and coasts from overfishing and off-shore oil drilling.
Campaigns:
Conserve Our Ocean Legacy: Destructive overfishing is threatening some of the most important ecosystems in the world—our oceans. Protections for our oceans must ensure that our oceans remain healthy.
Save Our Shores: America’s beautiful beaches are threatened by efforts by the oil and gas industry to drill in protected areas. Our beaches shouldn’t be marred by the air pollution, oil spills, and toxic dumping that off-shore drilling will bring.
