Groups urge Whole Foods: Put planet over plastic by eliminating plastic packaging

AUSTIN, Texas -- Environment America Research & Policy Center, U.S. PIRG Education Fund and other nonprofits launched a national campaign on Tuesday calling on Whole Foods to change its practices on plastic packaging. The groups’ decision comes after the supermarket chain received an “F” for its policies on single-use plastic packaging from As You Sow, an environmental shareholder advocacy nonprofit.

New Jersey Governor signs strongest ban on single-use plastics in nation, promotes reusable bags

TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed the strongest single-use plastics ban in the nation into law today. Going into effect early Spring 2022, the new law will ban single-use plastics bags and polystyrene, restrict straws to on-request only and phase out paper bags at larger grocery stores.

Statement: Elections end when the votes are counted, and they are still being counted

Early Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump falsely claimed to have won the 2020 presidential election. At this point, there are still too many uncounted ballots for either candidate to claim victory.  Election administrators in such battleground states as Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania have not yet finished counting the millions of absentee ballots cast this year
