A coalition of leading public health and medical groups in several states across the country are urging U.S. senators, including U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, to establish central, transparent coordination of the medical supply chain in the next coronavirus stimulus package.

Statement: House passes climate-forward transportation bill

The U.S. House passed the “Moving Forward Act” Wednesday, a sweeping $1.5 trillion infrastructure package that will rebuild and modernize American in several key areas. The House’s long-term transportation spending plan, the INVEST Act, was included as part of the package. This legislation reorients highway funding to prioritize maintenance and safety, as well as increases investment in electric vehicles, public transportation, biking and walking.

Statement: House leaders release sweeping climate plan

Led by U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, Democrats on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis released a comprehensive report Tuesday detailing policies and programs to tackle climate change at the federal level. The report is based on twelve pillars of action with the overall goal of achieving net zero carbon dioxide emissions in the United States by 2050.
