Colorado governor signs groundbreaking single-use plastic bill into law

As states across the country continue to tackle the single-use plastic waste crisis, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed the landmark Plastic Pollution Reduction Act into law on Tuesday. The law will phase out single-use plastic bags, polystyrene cups and containers, and reverse a law that prohibits municipalities from passing their own ordinances to address plastic waste

Superfund sites in potential path of Hurricane Elsa

There are at least nine Superfund toxic waste sites in the path of Hurricane Elsa, the first hurricane of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season. There have also been four tropical storms so far this season.
