Congressional memo provides blueprint to reduce plastic pollution

U.S. Sen. Tom Udall of New Mexico and U.S. Rep. Alan Lowenthal of California circulated a memo Tuesday, with the help of U.S. PIRG and other, to state legislative offices around the country, encouraging lawmakers to draw from their Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act.

To meet laudable climate-neutral goal, Apple must rethink repair

In response to Apple’s announcement that it will attempt to go carbon netural by 2030, U.S. PIRG Right to Repair Campaign Director Nathan Proctor issued a statement calling for the company to rethink it's approach to repair to cut emissions.

Statement: House budget calls for FTC report on repair restrictions

The House Appropriation Committee passed its FY 2021 “Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill” on Wednesday. It included a U.S. PIRG-backed requirement for the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to continue investigating anti-competitive practices in the repair marketplace and then report its findings to Congress and the public.
